Change
Today on August 3, 2023 I was thinking about some things and talking to my hubby about it, and I felt like it was something I’d want to write down and also talk about here.
I was thinking to myself I
thought I had to make Big or Huge changes to have big and huge changes to occur. It often caused me to stress myself out so
much about it, that I’d get down on myself a lot for not being completely
better or fully changed quickly.
That’s when I realized little changes can help bring about the big or huge changes of wanting to completely get better or fully change.
It's the same thing as the saying goes, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” Lao Tzu
You have to start somewhere, and stepping in the right direction is a start. Little things like noticing the bids chirping, and sun shinning from your window, and being thankful for that, can make a difference as you start to appreciate the beauty that is around you.
Then on cloudy, darker, rainy, stormier days, listening to the sounds and how calming the rain can be, or watching the thunderstorm and seeing how amazing it can be, to see the light show as it lights up the sky through the dark clouds that is all around it.
It’s about appreciating the things around you, even through the hard times. When things are relaxed, it’s of course a lot easier to make better decisions and choices, and notice the lovely things of life then, but I find when I’m in my struggles, that looking beyond the darkness of life can be quite hard.
So when, as I said, I wanted to change, and get that deep darkness out of me, I thought I’d have to do a big change to get past it right away.
I’m not saying that can’t happen, as it can, as some people are really motivated to get there, and they will put absolutely everything they have in them to get where they want to be, but people that are really depressed and anxious, it’s super difficult to do.
Often what happens is that instead of even trying a little something better, depressed and anxious people will end up doing nothing, or even falling back worse then where they were, because the stress of getting to that better place seems too impossible, or too overwhelming to work through.
So I think for people that are like that, which includes me, is to start with little changes, as at least you are doing something, as when you add lots of little things together, they can add up to a lot more, so that you can be further along that journey then you even realized.
There were so many things that I needed to change in my life, but I started with one little thing recently that I felt that I could handle that was holding me back a lot, and that helped me to add a second little thing. I admit I couldn’t always be perfect even with the couple of little things I was trying to do better with, but I kept going with it the best I could, and I know that was important.
I know as I said big change is important, but I also know the more little changes you do, the easier the bigger changes will become. You just have to start somewhere. I felt Elohim (God) guided me to those thoughts; and originally, I felt I needed to have all the answers before I could try to get better. That’s when He reminded me again, to just start somewhere, and He’ll be there by your side to support you when you feel that fear inside of you, of being too scared to change directions, and that’s when He'll help you to be courageous, as you take that first little step in the right direction.

Ephesians 4:22-24 To put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
Here’s a
song about remembering that when you feeling so empty, and nothing can’t
satisfy you and the world isn’t there for you – to know that all who search –
will find what their soul’s longs for when they come to the well of our Yeshua
(Jesus) and our Elohim (God) as They are here for the broken hearted, as people
leave behind the things that are holding them back.
