Unexpected Interview

On July 26, 2017 I was starting to feel tired again and I decided that I should go to a walk-in clinic to see what’s causing me to be tired.  I looked online and found three near by.  I decided I would go to the one that had the highest reviews for a female doctor.  If you know anything about what doctors’ offices in Canada are like, it’s that you often wait for what seems like forever to be seen.  Knowing this, I decided to eat an early lunch, so I wouldn’t be starving at the doctor’s office.

I got to the doctor’s office and found out quickly that it wasn’t a walk-in clinic.  In some ways, I preferred that as it would be great to have a family doctor near by that I could go to regularly.  I talked to the receptionist and he told me that the doctors there weren’t taking any new patients as they are fully booked.

I felt a little discouraged at that point, but I asked if there were any female family doctors that were walking distance.  He checked and everything was about 30-40 minutes away.  I thanked him and thought since I was there, that I would ask him if he knew if they were hiring.

It turned out that they were.  He had the office manager come talk to me.  I told her up front that I didn’t have any medical background, but she said she’d tell me about the job and we would see after how it goes.  She told me that the job entailed taking a person’s blood pressure, weight, height, history, booking for another appointment, and many other things.

I told her about myself and the many years of customer service experience I have and how much I wanted to help people.  She told me at the end of the interview that she decided to interview me because I was so friendly.  I didn’t bring my resume as I wasn’t prepared to have an interview, but she gave me her card so I could email it to her.

I thanked her a bunch and thanked her for taking a chance on me.  I was so ecstatic after I left the office.  It was pretty cool that I went there to try to find a doctor and I ended up getting a job interview instead.  I’ve never had that happen before, and I realized right away that this could only be God guiding me to this location.  I had been so worried about trying to rely on myself to find a job, that I wasn’t letting God show me where I needed to go to get one.

I don’t know if I’ll get a job there, but I did feel that God was looking out for me.  I felt like He was saying I’m still here for you.  Even if I don’t get the job it was still a good experience, as it really boost my confidence for my next job interview.

Psalms 121:7-8      The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life.  The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.

Here’s a good song about wanting to close your eyes and pretend that everything is alright when it actually isn’t for everyone around you.  But you refuse to do that because you don’t want to live like you don’t care or do another empty prayer.  You don’t want to sit around and wait for someone else to do what God had meant for you to do, and you could choose not to move, but you refuse to do that.  That there may be people crying out, and we are the hand and feet of God to help them.  As you do what you are meant to do, then you show everyone who you really are by what you do.

That you refuse to turn you back against the things that you see going on, as you want to do God’s work.
