Unexpected Interview

Image
On July 26, 2017 I was starting to feel tired again and I decided that I should go to a walk-in clinic to see what’s causing me to be tired.   I looked online and found three near by.   I decided I would go to the one that had the highest reviews for a female doctor.   If you know anything about what doctors’ offices in Canada are like, it’s that you often wait for what seems like forever to be seen.   Knowing this, I decided to eat an early lunch, so I wouldn’t be starving at the doctor’s office. I got to the doctor’s office and found out quickly that it wasn’t a walk-in clinic.   In some ways, I preferred that as it would be great to have a family doctor near by that I could go to regularly.   I talked to the receptionist and he told me that the doctors there weren’t taking any new patients as they are fully booked. I felt a little discouraged at that point, but I asked if there were any female family doctors that were walking distance.   ...

Finding the bright side of things

On July 19, 2017 I was thinking that finding a new place to live isn’t the easiest thing to do.   My husband and I were having trouble finding a place to rent that worked for us.   We ended up going to a realtor who was suggested from a friend of mine.   We were hoping our realtor would be able to help us find a new home. The first place we put an application in for wasn’t too bad, but it wasn’t amazing.   It was a new build stacked townhouse, where each level is rented out except for the top two levels that were half the length of the unit.   We felt at the time having the top half unit would be best as then we wouldn’t have anyone above us, but there were draw backs.   To get to the house’s entrance you had to go up a flight of stairs. I don’t mind going up or down stairs, but we realized moving would have been horrible as the entrance into in the place had a very narrow corner, so moving couches or a bed would have been out of the question. ...

Taking a break

On July 12, 2017 I had decided to take some time off from my blog for a couple of reasons.   The first reason is, as many people have had in the past, I had writers block.   I found that as time went by past Victoria Day I couldn’t think of new topics to write about.   Most of the time I can think of something encouraging that I can relate to others, but at the time that wasn’t the case. I was racking my brain trying to think about what I should write, when I realized that the best posts that come from me are the ones that I get inspired to write.   I decided I needed to take a step away from my writing for a bit, to see why I was writing my posts in the first place. I think God sometimes puts barriers in our way to cause us to stop and take a breath.   If we are always going non-stop, then we can’t really get to our full potential.   What will happen is we’ll always be gasping for air trying to do everything.   In this revelation, I saw tha...

Canada’s 150th

On July 1, 2017 I just wanted to say ‘hello’ again, and to thank those that have read my posts in the past – I do quite appreciate it.   As many of you may know I decided to take a break from my blog for a little while.   I’ll let you know a little more about that in my next post.   In the meantime, as you can tell by my title I’m going to talk about how my Canada’s 150 th went. I can hardly believe that Canada’s 150 th birthday just went by.   I remember a few years ago thinking ‘wow, Canada’s going to be 150, that’s a big birthday,’ so I decided that for this Canada Day I would go and see some really good fireworks. It had been raining so much during the month of June that I was worried that the fireworks would be rained out on July 1 st . Luckily, the rain only happened during the afternoon.   July 1 st started off nicely, with the sun coming up in the morning.   My hubby and I went with his mother to my sister-in-law’s place for lunch. ...
